The ALR deadline is 15 calendar days from the notice served at arrest — miss it and the suspension hits automatically on day 40. Filing through the DPS Secure Mail portal generates an instant timestamp, safer than mail given the deadline's rigidity. If a blood draw was involved, don't file yet: the notice doesn't go out until lab results return, which given state lab backlogs can take 3 to 6 months, and that 15-day window opens the moment DPS mails it — to whatever address is on file, whether current or not.
