Georgia Impound Fee Calculator
Estimate the maximum you can legally be charged after a nonconsensual tow from private property (for example, a parking lot) in Fulton, Cobb, DeKalb, Clayton, or Gwinnett County. All rates are set by GA DPS Tariff No. 5 (effective June 17, 2024). A police-ordered or DUI impound is not covered by these caps.

Source: O.C.G.A. § 44-1-13, GA DPS Rule 570-38-7. Effective June 17, 2024. These maximums apply to nonconsensual tows from private property, not police or DUI impounds. No additional charges for dollies, lifts, slim jims, or equipment are permitted.

County-specific rules
Fulton County (Atlanta)
Atlanta city ordinance (Ch. 162-227) requires all-inclusive fees — no add-ons for equipment, mileage, or dollies. Only city-permitted tow operators may operate within Atlanta city limits.
Cobb County
Follows GA DPS state rates. Zone holders must maintain 5 no-charge storage areas for police-confiscated vehicles.
DeKalb, Clayton & Gwinnett Counties
All follow GA DPS Tariff No. 5 state rates with no local overrides.
